This piece is about someone I met recently. Before starting it I did the old www.thesaurus.com trick and typed in the word ‘amazing’.

Amazing and following synonyms for that word aptly describe my new friend Ben: astounding, bewildering, breathtaking, extraordinary, impressive, marvelous, miraculous, spectacular, staggering, startling, striking, stunning, stupendous, wonderful, wondrous.

And there are other words that fit him, like talented, smart… Anyway, while surfing around on MySpace some time ago, I ran across a profile. I stopped and for several minutes sat staring at a picture of a young, red-haired man.

I lit up a smoke and studied a face I thought to be both interesting and intelligent. Thinking “why not” I clicked and read what he’d written about himself on his profile page. Hmmm… a fellow Gemini. He’d put the word “straight” under orientation, but Gemini’s are very curious by nature, are often willing to experiment and I felt drawn to this guy for some reason. He looked to be the quiet, still-water-runs-deep type. A laid back and calm guy, I figured.
